In 2011, Clairmont Stables joined the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) in order to provide the opportunity for high school and middle school riders to compete on a team with other riders their age. This young riders to further their skills as competitive riders and to learn necessary teamwork skills and sportsmanship.
Our team is called the Birmingham Interscholastic Equestrian Team (BIET). Birmingham Equestrian allows riders who don't own their own horse the opportunity to compete at a more affordable cost and provides opportunities for college scholarships.
The BIET practices bi-monthly at Clairmont Stables in a team setting with Clair Allison and Pam Carroll, our coaches/trainers. We attend interscholastic horse shows throughout Zone 4, which includes Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. The Birmingham Equestrian Team competition calendar starts in August and runs through April of each year. Riders have the opportunity to compete and qualify for National finals every year.
